PROSPECTS F.A.Q
The call volume into our office from parents, players, coaches, and scouts, is overwhelming over the course of a hockey season. Thus, in order to better help you, here are some FAQ and the answers to them: will do our best to list on a regular basis questions that are asked of us that can easily be answered here. If your question is not listed below, do not hesitate to email us.
Question: Is anyone allowed to play in the Prospects Hockey Tournament?
Answer: No. Prospects is not a first come first serve event. Prospects wants only the top players in age group.
Question: How does one go about putting a team into the Prospects Hockey Tournament?
Answer: Because this is not first come first serve event, you must recruit the best players in your area and submit that roster for approval to Prospects. You first must get permission to enter a team before you do anything else. During this conversation, you will be asked to recruit the players you feel are of the top caliber. You will be asked, over a series of steps, to submit a roster. At each submission (see how to register), the roster will be evaluated. If the roster is not to the standard of the tournament, it will not be allowed into the tournament. Once approved, you will then need to solidify the players on your roster before team entry is 100% confirmed into our tournament. It is NOT a club team tournament. Once approved, the completion of the registration procedure (payment and firming up roster spots) must be complete.
Question: What travel arrangements should you make? When should we make arrangements to come home (how does the playoff day work at Prospects?)
Answer: Every team will play 2 games on Friday, and 2 games on Saturday. The playoff day for "x" number of teams is on Sunday, and is always over at the latest 4:30pm. Every team should arrange to be in on Thursday night. The airport for Toronto is a 2 minute drive from the arena. You will play games on Sunday, if you qualify for the playoffs, starting 8:00am.
Question: When are schedules posted for the Prospects Events?
Answer: Schedules will be posted 14 days before each event. Players having to stay overnight for any Prospects event should always plan on arriving the day before the event beginning. Typically all Prospects events end at 4:30 pm on Sunday afternoon. PLEASE NOTE, SCHEDULES MAY CHANGE SLIGHTLY, SO YOU MUST KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PROSPECTS WEBSITE FOR ANY UPDATES. IF THERE IS A CHANGE, IT WILL NOT BE DRASTIC, SO DO NOT WORRY.
Question: When are rosters posted for the Prospects Events?
Answer: Rosters for all Prospects event are posted on the Prospects website and on Pointstreak on the Monday before the event or sooner if possible.
